The year 2024 was a significant year for the Malaysian Palm Oil (MPO) industry, marked by strong performance and resilience amidst global challenges. Exports of Malaysian Palm Oil recorded significant growth, with total exports reaching 16.9 million tonnes, an 11.7% increase compared to 15.1 million tonnes in 2023. This performance was further complemented by a 4.2% year-on-year increase in crude palm oil (CPO) production, which totalled 19.3 million tonnes, compared to 18.5 million tonnes in the previous year. The healthy demand for Malaysian Palm Oil was evident, as average annual closing stocks of palm oil declined, signalling strong market uptake throughout the year.
