MPOC participated in “The Malaysia Merdeka Carnival” on Saturday, 26 August 2023 at the prestigious Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre, Brickendonbury, Hertfordshire, hosted by the High Commission of Malaysia to the UK. This annual event, initiated almost 20 years ago, receives thousands of visitors yearly (around 5,300 participants this year). It coincides with the month of Malaysia’s Independence Day.

The event was themed “Malaysia Madani, Determination in Unity, Fulfilling Hope” and gathered over 40 independent food stalls, government link agencies promotional booths, and services. Besides gathering Malaysians residing all around the UK, this carnival’s main objective is to promote Malaysia’s uniqueness to the locals. More than 5,300 people attended the event from within the UK, from the European region, plus a group of ex-Britain War Veterans who served in Malaysia decades ago.
