Malaysian Oil Palm Products Export to the US

In terms of MPO component breakdown to the US, RBD palm stearin, RBD palm oil and NBD palm olein are the top three products exported comprising almost 89% of the overall MPO export to US (refer to table 3). Despite being the most imported MPO component, RBD palm stearin has recorded a drop by 50.4%. Similar trend was observed in the exports of RBD palm oil, where export went down by 77.0% as well as for NBD palm olein, where export went down by 0.2%. Higher imports of rapeseed oil and tallow by the US offset the reduction of palm oil import besides competitive price of Indonesian palm oil going into the US market.
